Job Ref: AP@H261007Specific Requirements for this Position
Suitably educated, academically capable and experienced in teaching or tutoring high school learners.
A sound understanding of the Grade 12 curriculum, particularly Mathematical Literacy, English, Life Orientation, Tourism and Hospitality.
Experience working with learners with additional educational support needs, neurodivergence or developmental differences would be a strong advantage.
Patient, compassionate, encouraging and genuinely passionate about individualised education.
Able to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, processing abilities and developmental needs.
Confident supporting a learner with developmental dyspraxia, attention difficulties (ADD) and auditory processing challenges.
Technologically confident and capable of managing an online educational platform.
Highly organised, with the ability to manage lesson schedules, assignments, projects, assessments and submission deadlines.
Able to work independently while maintaining effective communication with the online school and parents.
Reliable, consistent and able to establish a warm, trusting and supportive relationship with the student.
About the Family & Role
Our Oranjezicht/ City Bowl family clients are looking for a dedicated, compassionate and academically capable home-school teacher to provide individualised educational support to their 17-year-old daughter, who will be completing Grade 12 through an online learning program. There is another family with their 17yr old son who is also following the same program, and they have worked together for the last 2 years. They are following the same path with the Oranjezicht family.
They are working towards an endorsed matric, following a CAPS-aligned curriculum that includes Mathematical Literacy, English, Life Orientation, Tourism and Hospitality.
All educational content, learning materials and the syllabus are provided through the online schooling platform. The teacher or tutor will therefore not be expected to develop a curriculum from scratch, but will need to confidently teach, explain and guide the student through the various subjects, lessons, assignments and assessments.
An important aspect of this position is the ability to manage the online educational platform effectively. This includes ensuring that lessons and assessments are completed on schedule, work is correctly submitted and uploaded, and ongoing communication with the online school is maintained.
The female student has developmental dyspraxia, ADD and auditory processing difficulties, which can affect aspects of her learning, concentration and information processing. She has also experienced some speech delays, although her communication has improved significantly as she has grown.
While she is 17 years old, some aspects of her social and developmental presentation are more typical of a younger teenager. She is described as a kind, gentle and sociable young person who enjoys interacting with others and does not present with behavioural challenges.
The family is looking for someone who will recognise and respect her individuality, understand her learning needs and create an encouraging, patient and supportive educational environment.
The ideal candidate will be able to balance academic expectations with flexibility, understanding when to adapt the pace of learning, revisit concepts or provide additional guidance.
This is a particularly rewarding opportunity for an educator who enjoys one-on-one type teaching and has a genuine interest in helping young people with individualised learning needs develop their confidence, independence and academic abilities.
The students attend a small, informal learning environment in the City Bowl area, with the other learner.
The successful candidate will collect them from the 17yr olds girls home each morning and accompany them to this learning space, where they will follow a structured school-day routine incorporating lessons, assignments, breaks and other educational activities.
Main Responsibilities
Collect the students as above each morning and transport them to the designated learning venue.
Provide individualised, face-to-face teaching and tutoring across their Grade 12 subjects.
Work through the supplied CAPS-aligned curriculum, lesson content and educational materials.
Explain concepts clearly and adapt teaching methods to accommodate her individual learning and processing needs.
Support the completion of assignments, projects, assessments and other academic requirements.
Establish and maintain a structured daily school routine, including appropriate lesson periods and breaks.
Manage the online learning platform, ensuring that all required work is completed, submitted and uploaded accurately and on time.
Monitor academic progress and keep track of deadlines, outstanding tasks and upcoming assessments.
Maintain regular communication with the online school regarding academic expectations, submissions and progress.
Liaise with the parents regarding the student's learning, development, achievements and areas requiring additional support.
Encourage confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
Provide a calm, compassionate and consistent educational environment that respects the student's individual abilities and developmental needs.

Job Ref: AP@H261014Specific Requirements for this Position
A teaching degree or diploma is essential.
Educated, warm, reliable and responsible.
Energetic, creative and enthusiastic about working with young children.
Confident in providing age-appropriate educational stimulation and learning opportunities.
Enjoys planning engaging activities, creative play and educational themes.
Organised and proactive in managing children's routines and daily schedules.
Experienced and comfortable caring for both preschool and early primary school-aged children.
Able to provide structure, consistency and emotional support.
Flexible and willing to accommodate additional hours, occasional evening babysitting and weekend stayovers.
Comfortable taking initiative and managing the children's needs independently.
About the Family & Role
Our Meadowridge family clients are looking for a suitably qualified, educated and enthusiastic au pair to care for their two young daughters, aged 6 and 2.
Both girls attend the same school in the mornings, and the family is looking for someone who will take over their care in the afternoons, providing a warm, stimulating and well-structured environment until the parents return home.
A teaching qualification is an essential requirement for this position, as the parents would particularly value someone who understands early childhood development and enjoys actively engaging children through creative play, educational activities and age-appropriate learning experiences.
The family would love an au pair who takes initiative in planning the children's afternoons rather than simply supervising them. This could include preparing activities around weekly themes, encouraging imaginative play, supporting early learning and providing meaningful stimulation, particularly for the younger child.
The older daughter will also need some assistance with homework and school-related activities.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is energetic and nurturing, but also organised and confident in managing the practical routines of a busy family with two young children.
An important aspect of this position is flexibility. Although the regular school-term hours are 12pm–6pm, the family is offering a flexible 40-hour working week to accommodate additional childcare requirements. This will include babysitting approximately two to three times a month, usually on a Friday or Saturday evening, as well as occasional weekend stayovers when the parents travel without the children.
During school holidays, the working hours will generally be 8am–5pm.
The family is therefore looking for someone who is comfortable with this flexibility and would enjoy becoming a trusted and dependable part of their children's daily lives.
Main Responsibilities
Collect both children from their school.
Prepare and serve lunch for the children.
Plan and engage in stimulating, age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities.
Introduce creative and educational themes, particularly for the younger child.
Encourage imaginative play, learning and development through meaningful interaction.
Assist the older daughter with homework and school-related activities.
Transport the children to their extra-mural activities.
Prepare snacks and refreshments for the children throughout the afternoon.
Prepare and serve the children's dinner.
Assist with bath time and the early evening routine before handing over to Mom or Dad.
Prepare school bags, extra-mural equipment and other necessities for the following day.
Keep the children's bedrooms, play areas and belongings clean, tidy and organised.
Assist with evening babysitting approximately 2–3 times a month, usually on a Friday or Saturday.
Be available for occasional weekend stayovers when the parents are away, by prior arrangement.
Accommodate the family's flexible working-hour requirements within the agreed employment arrangements.

Plan playdates, outings and activities in consultation with Mom.
Prepare meals and snacks.
Keep the child's cupboards, playroom, pram and belongings organised.
Maintain lists of items and supplies needed for the child.
Establish good hygiene routines.
Help the child participate in simple age-appropriate daily responsibilities and routines.
Communicate openly with the parents about the child's day, behaviour, development and any concerns.
Follow the family's agreed routines, boundaries and parenting approach.

Remain particularly vigilant around swimming pools, baths, dams and all bodies of water.
Follow safety procedures while travelling, on safari and when spending time on the family farm.
Prepare and organise everything needed when travelling with the child.
Travel & Lifestyle
Frequent travel is a fundamental part of this position.
The family may spend several days each week in Stellenbosch as they begin developing their farm, as well as travelling regularly elsewhere in South Africa and internationally – even for a few months.

Frequent changes of environment.
Packing and organising for a young child.
Last-minute changes to travel plans.
Extended periods away from Cape Town.
Safari and farm environments.

· Well-spoken and fluent in English, the family's home language.
· Enjoys imaginative and creative play and engaging meaningfully with children.
· Reliable, organised and able to take initiative.
· Preferably living in Constantia or nearby.
· Available for babysitting by prior arrangement.
About the Family & Role
Our Constantia family clients are looking for an educated, caring and responsible au pair to support their two children, a 7-year-old boy and his 5-year-old sister.
Their son has epilepsy and requires an attentive and responsible caregiver who can recognise and respond appropriately should a seizure occur. Previous experience with epilepsy would be an advantage, although the family would also consider a suitably experienced candidate who is willing to learn and follow the child's specific care and emergency procedures.
The 7-year-old also requires some additional tutoring and educational support with his schoolwork, particularly within the Foundation Phase curriculum. The family would therefore value someone who enjoys teaching young children and can provide patient, encouraging and individualised learning support.
Beyond the educational and medical considerations, the parents are looking for an au pair who will build a warm and trusting relationship with both children, engaging them in creative and imaginative play while providing a calm, nurturing and structured environment.
The position is initially for three afternoons a week, although the family is open to extending this to five afternoons for the right candidate.
Main Responsibilities
· Arrive at the family home at 1pm or collect one or both children from school, depending on the day's arrangements.
· Attend to the children's general care, well-being and safety.
· Provide individualised tutoring and educational support to the 7-year-old, particularly with his Foundation Phase schoolwork.
· Be attentive to the son's epilepsy and follow the family's agreed seizure management and emergency procedures.
· Spend quality time engaging both children in imaginative and creative play.
· Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities at home.
· Accompany the children on walks and to extra-mural and sporting activities.
· Prepare meals and snacks for the children.
· Keep the children's play areas tidy and organised before leaving for the day.
· Assist with babysitting once a week by prior arrangement, with additional hours remunerated separately.
